A very tired girl who's crazy in love.

I think the above describes what I am feeling now. Actually much less tired from this morning. Had tuition at 6-8 pm today after work and tian kindly picked me up to go to his place to celebrate his sister's birthday. We had a great, super full dinner at Black Aangus yesterday evening to celebrate too. Guess what his sister got for her birthday..a BEAUTIFULLLL HOT RED drum set!!! how cool is that!! Eveer since I saw Tsih Ern's silver drum set at her huge mansion in JB, I was so inspired to learn drumming but of cos sometimes I'm guilty of being a person who dreams big but never put in concrete action or effort to pursue my interest. But I was struggling with piano at that time, so yeap drums would have to wait. Anyway I wanted to learn so many instruments I wouldn't have the time to be good. I think it's no use just knowing the basics. So anyway I decided to blog finally while waiting to cut the cake.

It's been more than 24 hours since I'm back from HongKong. Everyone's asking how my trip went and what I would say is that it wasn't a fantastic trip (as in not all things went as planned) but to travel and explore a new world and experience the culture of HongKong with 5 very nice and fun-loving people made the trip very enjoyable anyway. Hilarious things happened and things that is impossible to others happened to us..so yeap..exciting..challenging..shocked me till I turn pale and also made me laugh till I drop. Also, nothing beats travelling and spending 24 hours with my darling. Guess I've been spending too much time with him..this morning and afternoon, while I was in office at work..I couldn't stop thinking of tian. Think it's the withdrawal symptoms.

Anyway Hong Kong is a great place. The air is not that bad (so I heard)..not really polluted to me leh..but anyway HK is Singapore with many beautiful mountains that go way up into the clouds + size times 3 or more (at least to me) + people who speak Cantonese instead of English (not even Chinese) + many areas which are way under-developed (at first it's quite a turn-off but soon I realise perhaps Singapore looks too perfect or plastic with pretty, well-maintained buildings and blocks. Streets lined dirty-looking buildings all packed together and one behind another is actually sth refreshing and comfortable..I don't need to feel so uptight and proper..ok I'm crapping haha) + streets lined with low-rise buildings with huge advertisement boards popping out..just like in the movies haha. I soon got used to the look..the messiness of the buildings, the intertwining never-ending streets full of shops which makes HongKong seem so big and busy and the buildings on mountains..totally cool. If only we can add a few mountains to the landscape of Singapore.

Shopping in Hong Kong is supposed to be fantastic but I only came home with 1 skirt and 1 esprit bag. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know!!! It's how pathetic!!!I actually very disappointed with myself..but at the same time I know that I do have quite a lot of control over my wallet and also I am quite an unconventional person who is afraid to try laces, colours and other frills. Very sad I know..Clothes in Hong Kong are very pretty..flowery, lacey..more far-east looking than Mango looking..guess I'm just not very used to it. And when I actually saw sth which I think is not only pretty it's also sth that I would dare to wear without feeling too conscious of my looks..the price would be exorbitant and I'll walk out of the shop disheartened. Haha maybe it's just Causeway Bay. Walked the whole of Ladies Street without buying anything too..too messy and pasar-malamish..I'm too lazy or tired to bargin or find sth I really like. Ladies Street was more of sight-seeing for me hahaha I'm weird I know. Think most of my money went to the food. We tried a fair share of local roadside delights and dim sum chinese restaurants which cost abt the same as Singapore restaurants. Still thumbs-up for local fare. N i tried my first smelly tou fu too. Tasted so normal..the smell didn't affect the taste buds after all and I liked the crispy outer covering. heh also that famous Mango dessert thingy..we only tried xu liu shan which has already come to Singapore so it was no big deal..I just wonder if that's the authentic famous hong kong mango dessert. Many many more things happened like

1) How Roy dropped his dear slippers into the huge gap between the MTR (aka MRT) and the platform due to the crazy crowd. We had a rescue operation which involved a long clipper like thing which can pick up stuff from the tracks and the one slipper (one side only) was back with the owner in one piece. =)

2) How Michelle actually misread the time of our flight home from 8.20 pm to 10.20pm haha. Yeap everyone..that's how we missed our flight. And stupid me..Roy also..we kept saying that we thought we were supposed to reach Singapore at 12 plus and not 2 plus but we didn't bother to check the tickets. Nevermind, this is a lesson to be learnt for all of us. All of us must be responsible to check the timings whatever we do..be it catching a flight or sitting for an exam..we must be responsible for ourselves!! So it's all our fault!! Haha I really panicked when I found out that we ACTUALLY missed our flight home. My face was so damn black or white maybe..I was very traumatised man. But after talking and discussing about our options, I calmed down a little because thank goodness Valuair opens on Sunday and I was quite optimistic we can get tickets on the next flight which is 11.55am the next morning. So we waited and slept at HongKong International Airport..amazing race style. Rather uncomfortable sleeping on the red seats of the airport and definitely damn unglam but oh well..what an experience!!! Instead of brooding over it, as what mich said we should embrace this experience which not many people will get to experience!!! haha we hopped onto the earliest flight the next morning with an additional charge of $50 sin dollars (phew). I was never more thankful to hear the voice of the lady from Valuair over the phone. We waited the whole night just to call her the next morning at 9am (that's when they open). I explored the almost the whole of HKIA departure hall. And it's cool to be at the airport overnight when most of the lights are off and there'll be only a few people, not walking around, but lying on the seats just like us. All shops and check-in counters are empty and it's silence. Very cool. Then the next morning when you get up, the airport is a different place buzzling with travellers, tour groups and queues at the counters. Also weird to be brushing teeth and washing my face in a public toilet.

Shall put up some pictures at a later date. I miss Hong Kong and I can't wait to go back next year if my finances allow. And the next time I'm there, I'll make sure I'll be more flexible and buy more things. Airflight- $191.50. Hotel - $177 about there. Cash- $500 or less. I didn't spend all my $500 sin dollars which I changed. So in total I spent less than a thousand. I shall aim to spend more on my next trip hahahaha

So many more things to say but I'm tired. Eyes actually hurt from looking at the com screen for too long. By the way due to some unfortunate things which happened at work, I'm not really happy working now and have decided to quit at an earlier date, much to the delight of my darling who has been bugging me to quit earlier. 15 July is the date and somehow earning more money is not really the issue now. Less motivation to work hard and do my best for the Society at this moment. Thank god there are still other kind and NICE doctors around. but I guess quitting one week earlier will do me good. I definitely need time to prepare for mich's and tian's birthdays. Yes July has always been a busy month, it being michelle's favourite month eh hahaha. So sad that school is starting soon. If only things can be like now forever, no school, no work to worry about too..just slack and spend everyday with Tian. Sighhhh

To mich & betty: Friday is good for me. Set?!! Eski bar?!!
