I am a full-time mugger. I LOVE being a mugger toad (what Baorong called me =p)-cum-geek-cum-fat-and-unfit-pale-looking girl. I have even lost interest in my favourite pastime, Shopping. Time for counselling haha.
Tian and I almost went crazy while mugging in the study room today. It was past 8pm I think, I started humming, he started singing, in the afternoon he even disco-ed (tried to), then we started talking nonsense and I started laughing so hard, Tian said I sounded like I was hyperventilating. We're seriously going crazy. There's BN test tomorrow at 10am, 10%. Tian started saying that fluid mechanics is so cool. Then I told him because I'm in BIOengineering, fluid mech has now become BIOfluid mechanics. Then he said that's SO cool. I told you we talk nonsense to each other.
I'm so looking forward to one hell of a relaxing day on Sunday. But for now, I need to study. (what's new...)

Hwee Ying's 21st birthday party @ Blujaz
Was going to wait till I get all the photos from Wenkien and Hazel before I blog about Hwee Ying's 21st birthday party last Thursday, but I can't wait to show you guys some really good pictures taken but this photographer called Jonathan.
A very cool cafe/pub with very relaxed setting and gorgeous deco, like this pretty thing above.
The band, playing some really soulful and soothing music that night.

Birthday girl receiving our present. Hope you like the Aldo bag babe! 2nd day of present-hunting for Hwee Ying saw me stepping into Aldo @ Vivocity 3 times. First time by myself, parading in front of the mirror with more than 4 choices of nice bags and calling Mich for help. 2nd time was 2 hrs later, with Mich, where we began our debate on which bag suits Hwee Ying more and of course we couldn't come to a conclusion because she hates the bags that I like haha. 3rd time was 1 hr later with Tian, whom we needed to make the final, unbias decision. Haha he too doesn't like the plastic-looking bag which I fancied. Only that very helpful male shop assistant had the same taste as me! haha!
Tian and I with Zhenjin. Why did the photographer blur Zhenjin's face! He didn't tell us who he was taking and he just had his pro camera up all the time, quietly taking photos of everyone. I want to learn to take such pictures too, where you only focus on the object and blur the background. I can't do that with a normal Canon Ixus, is it?
Hazel, Belle, Celene, Fiona and Brenda. I'm the odd engineer among all the medicine girls, Belle just finished med year 4.

My turn. I don't know how he managed to take these 2 solo pictures because Tian and I were siting close to each other. We were listening to the band actually, looking at this female singer who was so stylish and acting so cool with her funky cowboy-like hat.
Me with more medicine girls, Yanping in green and Christine in black. Christine was looking very retro that night, especially the way she did her hair - she wore a headband I think, and her earrings. Oh, the theme for the party was mod. What a tough theme, Hwee Ying!

Breathe...
Hectic week again. After many nights of 2-4am researching on the Maya civilization, we're finally done with the project. I was so glad to submit it this afternoon. Don't ever want to take another module with project work, it is way too time-consuming and for one week I didn't have time for tutorials. But I must say I had a fun time working with my group mates. Nice, helpful people.
Last week being Tian's first week of "holiday" after his CAs (but it's my school week!!), we had 2 crazy nights of mahjong, the most recent one was on Friday night with Mich and Jega at Jega's place. I shamelessly self-invited us when I found out that they were rushing home after squash IFG for mahjong session with his mum. Mich said it would be ok while Jega obviously hesitated and once they got onto the car, I immediately regretted self-inviting too because the mahjong session was supposed to be a family thing and Tian and I would be intruding. Aiyah, somehow or another, we ended up at Jega's place and so the insane mahjong session began, with Jega + Mich sharing a seat, Jega's mum, Nabil (dunno how to spell) and Tian + me sharing a seat as usual. So I blogged about this specially for Jamie, haha don't be worked up if Kamini told you about the mahjong session ok, I know it was super near your house but we couldn't invite you because the table was full. You would understand right...hehe so Jega, during the holidays can Mich, Jamie and I play mahjong at your place? It'll be so fun haha, but hopefully no more repeats of that crazy night which saw us starting at around 10.30pm and ended at 3 or was it 4am? Can't remember, I only remembered having a headache when the wind was only nan2. At first, Tian and I kept winning so we held on the "wind" for a short while, then Jega and Mich can't stop winning too and held on to the "wind" for an even longer time that's why the game was soooo long! I shall stop rambling about mahjong now, all this is just for Jamie anyway. But that night at Jega's place would be unforgettable because not only was it the first time I played serious mahjong with Mich and Jega, and Jega's family, also first time at Jega's new house, first time eating Kueh Chap (dunno how to spell again, I only know how to eat) thanks to Mich and Jega who brought us there for supper, it was also the first time Tian and I had such good luck + good tiles + good chances. (although Jega and Mich were the ultimate winners) So that "morning", we couldn't stop talking about (and admiring) our beautiful tiles on the car, and continued on the phone before we went to bed at 5am. =p

Me with my biggest fan, who came down to support me although he had to study for his CAs. We reached town early while the rest of the Blast people were held back at NUS so I had his company while waiting. He brought his notes in his bag but I doubt he took it out. Tian got a very good but painful spot that evening, clinging onto the Heeren's bus stand/post whatever you call it. I spotted him so easily.=) Thanks again, dear.
Bored you see...it was a long wait as I have already mentioned. Never put Esther and Celine together, the things that they do can make you die laughing. Such funky and spontaneous characters. I seem so boring beside them. =p
Xiaoping and I with hot float dancers San Thit and Val! Pat was lazing on the float so we dragged him into the picture too. I should have taken a photo with the wig, how cool haha.
We finally managed to climb up onto the float 'podium' to take pictures! Xping, Grace and Val in the super short dress because she's super tall.

Seniors with some very nice, hyperactive and hilariously crazy juniors. Chingay was definitely a good bonding session for Blast, I got to talk to and laugh with many of the junior girls.

Mich, Jamie, Baoxin, Baorong, Huiping and whoever's from rgsquash, guess who's this! Haha I was so surprised to meet J******* at Chingay! I didn't know she stays in hall, let alone I had to identify that pair of eyes because of her painted face but I could recognise her of course! I can't imagine my whole body, especially my face, in silver paint. Some of the girls had orange faces. Oh ya how come I never saw her at Chingay rehearsals hmm.
This was what we did while we danced from one performing area to the next - pose for cameras! There were so many cameras flashing away everywhere and someone would shout "Photo!" and we'd all rush to the front to pose for the crowd. haha Blast is full of photowhores.
Tastefully done by Kelvin again, the Photoshop pro. Got this from Xping's blog. The effect is how cool, and I think I spot myself doing my act-cute pose again. Seriously, is it that easy to transform a photo into this? I've never touched Photoshop before because I don't have the software so I don't know how user-friendly it is. But I've witnessed its power many times and I'm impressed!
Post-parade: There are perhaps about 4 of these transformers or funky robotic people parading the streets. Tian was excited haha. This transformer matched Tian's shirt colour so I chose this picture haha. And I was tip-toeing because the transformer was towering over us, especially me.

And this concludes my virgin experience at Chingay. It was so much fun, we got high on dancing at Orchard Road, the only time that traffic stops for you and you get to dance on the road, with so many people taking photos of us from Tangs to Centrepoint, we just let go and went crazy on the streets. The Monday practices at People's Association for 2 months, the long rehearsals and the long wait before the performance were all worth it in the end. This amazing experience will be an unforgettable one.

I really, really want my holiday
No time already, somehow work is never ending. I can never finish watching webcasts because I have 4 to watch every week, I can never finish my tutorials although I only have 4 modules with tutorials, I can never rest even though midterm tests are over because 2 weeks later, there's another BN quiz which is 10% and then there's a major project to be completed by few weeks' time. Oh man...thank god dance is taking a rest for now, perfect timing to shift my full concentration to my all-important studies. And while I'm doing all the above, I have to start revising for the final exams too!!! Less than 2 months to go, uni life really sucks because the semester is just too short.
Now to the holidays, I wanna take French 1 for special term, my first time doing special term so hopefully everything goes well, hopefully I don't have to S/U French, and although it IS the holidays, hopefully I'd still be in the mugger mode to study hard for french. Then there's also Vacation Internship Programme at IMRE. I have to be at the company from 7 May to 27 July, meaning 3 weeks at least. Should be happy about getting the internship but I'm really sad about spoiling my holidays. As much as I want to be kiasu and get a good headstart with an internship now (hello, some classmates actually went on internships last holiday while I was happily backpacking in Europe, sun-tanning at Pular Redang and earning some extra cash at Symrise Pte. Ltd!!!), this June holidays may be the very last one that I can spend with Tian for the next 2 years because when he's in med 3, he would be studying for tests in June. =( And I've saved quite a bit of money already, my bank account's looking healthy and when June comes, I should have enough for another 2 weeks in Europe or Japan! haha, of course with some financial aid from my mum too, if not my bank account will drop to zero every time I leave Singapore. I have so many plans, but there's only 3 month for me to do so many things.
Choices. Decisions. Priority. I hate this. I'm very greedy I want to do everything.

Should I sleep at all?
Time: 5.06am
Venue: Linda's lovely red room at Temasek Hall
Reason: Midnight practice for Impresario finals on Saturday...why not other timings? Because all 8 DIVAS are such important and busy ladies, there's no other time except for midnight, aka sleeping time, for dance practice. Wah I feel so accomplished actually, like I'm using my hours of a day to the max. Danced till 4am+ and now I still can blog in Linda's room instead of sleeping, there's really something wrong with me but I'm not sleepy! Cos of late dance prac, I couldn't talk to Tian on the phone before we go to bed. Just doesn't feel right.
Friday's going to be one crazy day. 8am - 12pm: lecture, 2pm: interview, 4pm: dance prac (where got time to go home to collect costume!!!), 7pm: Tian's grandfather's birthday dinner and concurrently Hip Hop Nite - I need to split myself into 2 because I really want to go for both...haiyaaaaaaaaaa. Actually this whole week has been crazy, with me recovering from Chingay and rushing through my studies to prepare for 3 midterm tests and I survived it all! My midterm tests ended today!!! Yayyyyy =) can breathe for a while now. I won't get full marks of course cos I'm not smart and I don't even deserve it but I don't think I'd do badly cos it wasn't all that bad. Next thursday's BN quiz...shall talk about it next week haha!
I'm a little hungry, supper would be perfect now but I ought to catch some sleep I guess.
