Turning 22
Jessica is 22 and thankful for everything that she has/had in her life thus far.
21 was an incredible year, which started off with an unforgettable birthday party, the first ever since primary school (I think Baorong and Vanessa would remember the birthday parties I had in primary school). No, I didn't get a 2nd upper and I didn't find a high-paying job so right now my future is still in danger. However, I did run my first 10k with Michelle, I did perform in ShutUp&Dance for the 2nd time, and the biggest thing is perhaps leaving home for 5 months on SEP. Still can't believe I really embarked on such a journey and looking back at the photos now it all seems like a dream. I really thank my mum for the opportunity and I'm thankful for all the friends that I've got to know/got closer to from SEP. You guys know who you are, thanks for keeping me well and chubby in Holland and also thanks for the memorable travel experience in Europe. And to my friends back home, the girlfriends, the bioengineers, the guys, Mich L, thanks for not forgetting about me while I was gone and thanks for the wonderful relationships that we share. It's my 4th and last year in Bioengin already and I'm glad I'm getting closer to the bioengineers cos they're awesome people. They're so much more knowledgeable, capable, mature in their thinking, and they give constructive and sincere feedbacks cos they care. So it's not just superficial relationships. Last but not least, thank you, my best friend for 8 years, the love of my life. Thank you for sticking with me, for helping me take care of myself while I was away from you, for worrying about me, for (omg I dunno why I feel like crying now) spending time with my family, for staying by my side and encouraging me all the way and for loving me despite my imperfections. I love you so much and will love you till the day I die.
A lot of things have happened in the past year and it might not have affected me directly but it certainly impacted the lives of the people around me. I am constantly reminded to cherish my family and friends, to treasure everything that I have, including my very good health, and to enjoy life to the fullest. So when I'm studying hard for my final exams in next 2 weeks, I must thank God for the opportunity and ability to study, for the good health that I have which allows me to study to the best of my ability, and for my family and friends who will be supporting me along the way.
Sorry for the long-winded post. I'm just feeling very thankful today.
Happy 22nd birthday to me.
