Happy Chinese New Year!

Look at naughty Jonathan..he loves taking photos..but he'll always make a funny face..like this. Looks like Donald Duck's mouth to me.

Nah I'm not that hyper actually, managed to do some work after I got home from visiting at about 10.30pm. Just attempted my virtual maths lab and looked at some cool helices and spiraling curves. Of course I'm not in love with Maths unlike those Engin people exchanging knowledge so enthusiastically on the Maths Lab forum on IVLE, the lab is making me sleepy, and I've decided to continue my work tomorrow haha. I'm so lazy. Sleeping always come first, if not, second. Blah. If only I can be like Tian who can study till 2am and still wake up at 7.30am the next morning. I have not performed a feat like that in ages. Can't imagine doing that. I just don't think I'm capable of doing that anymore. The older I get, it seems, the more sleep I (think) I need. Just put me on the bed and I'll just fall asleep.

And I only got a quarter of the number of red packets that Tian received today. Arghhh unfair!! But I still love Chinese New Year..I was actually excited about this 3-day break! And today I did not dread visiting at all..I conversed more to my uncles and aunties this year than previous years!! Perhaps it's because I'm all grown up and doesn't mind getting involved in adult talk. And more importantly, I always learn a lot from listening to adults talking..about everything from buying property (we visited my uncle's new apartment) to child incentives given by the government and more on cesarian birth (a pregnant auntie is due anytime, goes to a gynae at Thomson Medical Centre, Dr W K Tan if I did not remember it wrong, said her stitching skills are very good, almost no scaring). More importantly, I totally LOVE Chinese New Year goodies, all that love letters, pineapple tarts, almond biscuits, that currypuff-shaped 'cookie' with peanut inside I think, and chocolate..and I have good meals at different relatives' houses. Oh one thing, I did not get to eat any Ba Kua today!! I don't know why my relatives did not buy ba kua!! I'm shocked too haha! Nvm..I'm quite certain I'll get to eat it tomorrow heh if not I'll just eat the ba kua at home. Haha I'm so happy..I just ate and ate and ate without restraint, without feeling any ounce of guilt. That's the way man! So proud of myself. It's only 3 out of 365 days when I can afford to do this heh! It's the Chinese New Year!!

Oh and I gotta thank everyone who messaged me happy new year today!! I lost my handphone somewhere in September last year and ever since then I lost many numbers. More than 5 people with anonymous numbers messaged me today, so I went: Happy New Year to you too!! Sorry but may I know who's this? Yea quite awkward..there was Shane (mich, your classmate..I forgot how he got my number), and my dear classmate Jin Yi (haha I met him quite a few times in the holidays but forgot to get his number from him. Anyway I'm meeting him on Saturday at Daniel's again!!) oh and there was David who went: David..your ex-team mate or sth like that. Haha what ex-team mate..he's more important than that..it's ex co-captain what..whom I'm supposed to work closely together with to get the squash team going. Haha think he got quite a bit of my temper, Mich, did he? haha oh oh..guess who else messaged me today..Gopal!!! After I messaged him the "who's this" message, he replied: How could you? this is Gopal.. hahahaha of course I had to apologise profusely.

To my ladies, when are we going to one another's house for visiting? My mum seems to want to go out visiting everyday sheesh.

Mind me..Everyone has their good and bad days. Today's unfortunately a sad day for me. I'll be fine soon I guess..but does that mean all's well?

I'm not really in the mood to study. It's better to sleep and forget about everything.
My Mid-life Crisis

To a girl like me, when I do not buy a single thing for a Month, I feel lost and helpless. Weekends are no longer appealing anymore, I study my weekend away anyway. If this goes on, I'll be wearing the same clothes for the next 10 years. Somebody please help me, I hate feeling what I'm feeling now..I'm tired of looking..tired of walking. I just want to buy nice clothes which look good on me and are not expensive..Is that too much to ask..I really need to buy something desperately..

To a girl like me, everything is meaningless without you. You make me feel so empty and alone now. I've been holding on too tightly I'm sorry. Maybe you're just too precious to me. Run away now..

Without medicine, without you, without new clothes, there's really zero future for me now. I should just rot away quietly, away from all you happy people. Oh no, sublimation is a faster and cleaner process. Can I just vapourise into the atmosphere now? In this way, you don't have to do anything for me anymore.

Oh and since I have not bought anything for the longest time, I shall give my leftover money to my sisters before I disappear, so that they can buy things for themselves and for the family. Then I'll be making more than one person happy.

I'm a Slacker

Somebody PLEASE get Jayla off the show!! Oh my goodness her perfect image with that pretty face and body is totally ruined by her extreme bitchiness on today's show..come on man!! Nic didn't even mention names in front of the judges!! But Jayla just can't stop bitching and cursing Nic behind her!! Like what's wrong with her man!! ARGHHH

All girls need control in more than one way..

My stress levels are rather high now..sometimes I think I bring all this upon myself blah. Today I came home for a short while before leaving again for tuition, was planning to have some dinner first in case I get hungry later in the night but I just couldn't dinner at that time. The food in the kitchen didn't make me feel hungry the least bit..I'm just not hungry!! Perhaps lunch from the Japanese stall at Science canteen was too much, I don't know.

Tian's going to scream at me for this, ok he'll only shake his head , but I'm watching The Simple Life - Intern now on tv, after Top Model. It's so funny haha!! They were at a plastic surgeon's, watching this double eyelid surgery or sth like that, the surgeon was cutting a piece of skin off the patient's eyelid and Nicole asked the patient if she would like to keep her piece of skin from her eyelid, and she would put it in a container for her..something along this line. Hahah my sister and I couldn't stop laughing at stupid things that Nicole said in the show..really, Nicole just talks crap (which makes us laugh) and swears, Paris is much more 'tame' than her. Oh Paris is hilarious too, she read her book "The Confessions of an Heiress" to the patients who were recuperating from their surgeries. It's so damn funny haha.

I need to stop watching tv.

Victoria's Secret

14 Feb is nearing..I'm looking forward to it..though I have a mid-term paper the next day. My Valentine's day dinner shall be pushed forward for the first time! I'm happy because I'll be avoiding all the boring V-day set dinners that restaurants will be offering!! Go ala-carte!! Thing is..are the guys thinking about v-day at all? haiz..

I know I shouldn't be doing this, but I'm watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on tv right now..jess mug mug mug!! Arghh. My sister is busy looking at the models' body while I'm like "sheesh that underwear is so so pretty ahhhhh!!" The costumes are so glamorous and yeap I'm not only in love with the lingerie, I can't get my eyes off the models too!! Hmm Tyra is really a little big eh..but I have to say..this is the show which will have your eyes open wide and stuck to the television screen till the next commercial!! I'm just in awe..I want a body like theirs, their super long legs to fit perfectly into Frankie B's, their small, perky butts with that sexy line beneath the butt (my sister pointed this out haha). It's like, their bodies are just so perfect and proportionate, more importantly they have my dream abdomen. I'm a realistic girl haha..I know I can never ever have such a body, so I just watch and admire haha!! That's what models are for anyway, for people to look at them, gush over them and admire. Gosh I can't stand it..Victoria's Secret totally rocks!!! It is DE BEST of the best. Yummy.

Hmm..I didn't realise my darling little brother has been watching the fashion show with me..all the while..sitting quietly on the sofa not far away from me..he's usually not this quiet..hmm.

Some happy faces from Saturday

We girls totally rock! That's Hazel, Me, Siew Men and Ladies Champion Baorong!!

This is just a quarter of the NUS people who participated in this SMU tournament..thanks to Baoxin and school for organising it!

I spent my whole Saturday with Tian. Only one day a week..making Saturday possibly my favourite day. We were at Singapore Poly for squash in the morning till afternoon, went for a quick lunch with Hazel and Baorong with their respective 'men' (all the boyfriends are down this morning..in full force haha) at Ghim Mo and headed to Tian's place to attempt to study before going off for his brother's birthday dinner in the evening. Our attempt to study was such a failure gosh. My eyes were closing most of the time and in the end I succumbed to the bed. Tian was in front of the computer most of the time..his biggest weakness really humph. My biggest weakness? Sleeping and eating. Anyway after dinner at Thai Village @ Goodwood Park, I had to take a walk to Mango and Wisma to check out what I have been missing out these few weeks. It was 9 plus already and Heeren would have been closed - that's where I really needed to go actually haiz. I can't believe it has been so long since I last went to town..I'm really so so deprived you know..and Tian will never understand this need of mine and the feeling of lost. ok I'm exaggerating perhaps. I miss shopping with Tian on Saturday afternoons, followed by dinner then usually movies with the guys and Mich. Haiz my life is gone.

Summary of my first finals this morning, perhaps the most embarrassing game I have ever played and I don't remember feeling so helpless in any other matches I have played (ok I didn't play much to begin with, unlike Baorong and Baoxin and Huiping). I don't even belong in the finals really, all I did this morning was to make myself look like a fool in the court. Matches during the finals are supposed to be exciting, I wonder if the spectators outside were wondering where I came from because there was so great a difference in skills between me and Baorong. Haha. To think that I was actually excited about the match. Sometimes I forget that my dear friend was one of the top players in the team while I'm just, and all along a reserve.

Perhaps the time of the month is approaching. These few days I've been in the mood for reflecting and basically I'm thinking a lot about myself, my life. What have I done for myself in the past 19 years? Day and day, reality hits me hard on the head and to tell me, you're good at nothing. I'm good at sleeping Tian says, but no, since this year I find it harder to get to sleep and I'd toss and turn a lot before falling asleep. Good at eating? Not anymore..my appetite has shrunk and I can no longer have a 2nd serving for buffet at Rice Table. Oh and I can't appreciate those rare raw fish that Tian tried in Japan. Life is rather aimless now. I know I'm not good at anything because in the past 19 years I have not tried as hard as friends like Baorong to achieve the best, to be the best. I was distracted, I did not have the discipline, I did not fight for it. Perhaps I was too young then. I just did not feel the need to be the best in the things I do, as long as I'm relatively good at it and I'm enjoying myself, everything seems alright. So why the change in me? It just struck me that it's society which shaped me!! Singapore's meritocratic society!!

Haha. Come to think about it, do I need to be good at something to be happy? At the end of the day, am I truely happy and proud of my achievements, or am I trying to prove something to myself and to the people around me? Is there really a need to? Mind me, a lot of thoughts are going through my head now as I'm tying this, I'm speaking like a schizo.

I don't want to blog anymore, it's tiring to think so much about life. I never come to an answer, not really, I don't know why I think so much also. It's just girls' nature perhaps. All I know now is that I really want to be good at something and I'm all prepared to work so damn hard to achieve my dream, but somehow it's beyond my reach.

Ugly

When I was 7 they said that I was strange
I noticed that my eyes and hair weren't the same
I asked my parents if I was okay
They said you're more beautiful and that's the way
They show that they wish that they had your smile
So my confidence was up for a while
I got real comfortable with my own style
I knew that they were only jealous cos...

People are all the same
And we only get judged by what we do
Personality reflects name
And if I'm ugly then so are you,
So are you

There was a time when I felt like I cared
That I was shorter than everyone there
People made me feel that life was unfair
And I did things that made me ashamed
Cos I didn't know my body would change
I grew taller than them in more ways
But there will always be the one that will say
Something bad to make them feel great

People are all the same
And we only get judged by what we do
Personality reflects name
And if I'm ugly then so are you,
So are you

I'm in love with this song! Heard it perhaps last week at Tian's place on MTV and enjoyed the music video too. When Baorong first put up the lyrics of this song on her blog, I went to download it and it didn't appeal to me when I first heard the song. Ever since I watched the MTV that day, the song is stuck in my head and I can't stop singing the chorus from yesterday till now. What a beautiful and meaningful song.

And the Friday is here again..

The imagined Singapore nation is an institutional construct that has little basis in history or relevance in an increasingly globalised world. The belated initiatives of the ruling PAP government to inspire a Singaporean nationalism should be seen, not as a reactive response to preserve indigenous identity and culture, but as a rear-guard attempt to insure the governments ongoing hegemony over the state. Discuss.

My first Singapore Studies homework for tutorial. Oh gosh I'm not even certain about the definition of hegemony. I know I can use the dictionary anytime now but what if during the exam I face an unfamiliar word like this? I might just write a totally out of point essay!! Oh no I am so terribly bad at this. And hello, just for tutorial I have to read 41 pages of history readings, on top of the readings for lectures which is A LOT..they think we got so much time to read hor..and it's history ok..not as if it's Memoirs of the Geisha. Engineers-to-be are not accustomed to reading so much words unlike lawyers, we have been reading or rather facing so much mathematical equations and now I have to start reading heavily and worse, writing. And I'm not as good as Mich in this area..haiz that lucky girl completed for SS module last semester..arghhhh I need a shi fu.

I had a fruitful (to Michelle, SLACK and unproductive, to Tian) free day today. Free as in I did not have to go to school or lectures or tutorials. Shall blog more about it when I can afford the time..

My oldest friend..we share the longest history together..Glad I spent some time with you, Baorong and Betty today before you guys leave next month.

Juicy

Just got reminded by it today when they aired the commercial after Top Model..It's Desperate Housewives!!! Whoever designed or produced the advertisement, it was so well done, full of creativity, and totally deliciously HOT! Oh gosh I can't wait to watch it!! I have to say that in the advertisement all the ladies really look so damn gorgeous and simply stunning..I don't think I blinked throughout the juicy advertisement =p Let's see..3 more weeks..why the hell must they wait till Feb 6!!! Project Runway just ended so they should start showing now now now!! Haha..Monday nights are practically gone with previously Project Runway (soon Desperate Housewives) and Grey's Anatomy..My favourite Wednesday nights taken by American Idol (my sis said today's episode is freaking funny with this totally bimbo girl whose mother is also ridiculously bimbo too..can't believe I had to miss it!!! Please replay this episode pls ..) and Top Model. 2 nights gone..that's more than enough. Luckily I don't watch OC or CSI and stuff..or else I don't need to study at night anymore.

Oh Memoirs opens tomorrow (haha..when most of the nation has already caught the previews in the past week)..I like Life! movie reviews now..they're quite accurate..and our (or my) supposed Blockbuster of the Year, Memoirs of the Geisha, is only awarded 3 stars!! I totally agree with the judging. I have complained to Mich about my disappointments with the show and I should perhaps leave it as that. Glad she enjoyed it at least. Just don't feel mean today to critisise anything or anyone. Today is a happy day!!

My sister is blasting music away on the computer while I'm using my mac on my study table. So noisy la..play slow, quiet songs I can close an eye. But songs she like are also songs that Tian enjoy which are Loudddd..and I'm the type who cannot study with music or any noise in the background. Blah..I can't even sleep with music now!! (I used to be able to when I'm in sec school..hmm) Oh because I'll be singing to the songs or listening out for the lyrics and it'll distract me during my getting-to-sleep process. Haha I'm talking nonsense now..let's mug!!

When will I see you..

I'm love sick and I can't stop thinking about him. Ever since I woke up this morning for tuition. She's taking her O levels this year..so is Nikos..sheesh so damn stressed..when exam time comes Esh would make me have tuition with her every other day except that she has tuition for other subjects too..luckily for me..some breathing time. I just bought a stack of other sch's prelim papers for her to practise..hope that will help her..we're always running out of things to practise for Bio. Oh how's my first week of 2nd sem in Uni? Unexciting and lectures are as boring as always. Tutorials are already on IVLE and arghhh..more work and longer school hours now. The girls don't understand why I'm studying now..only Baorong will..right babe haha. We're born to study our whole lives..especially now that Baorong's future is set as a doctor..she can never stop studying..me? I don't know.

Alright, back to physics, my favourite subject now. Trust me, as gross as physics can be, maths is worse..10 times worse. Did I mention I have 3 8am days this semester? Seriously..Jess never wakes up earlier than 9am. And they are not lectures, they are tutorial classes, which I cannot afford to be late for or else the tutor will recognise me. Ok blogging is not going to help me wake up earlier, I just have to be more disciplined and stop switching off my phone alarm when it rings!! Oh I'm so good at doing that, I'll even switch off the snooze and go back to sleep =p I'm in trouble.
Girls' night out!

A wonderful non-rainy Saturday night with a few gorgeous girls who just can't stop talking and making me laugh. See what you missed out Baorong!! *Humph*(steaming..) anyway Happy belated birthday dearest Ness..

Basically, we get crazy when we're together and Mich and I can be so happy monkey-ing around. We're climbing up and down at the kid's playground, and laughing so hard at Baoxin who's so scared she's going to fall and Ness who can't climb up because of her blistered feet and super pro Betty dearie who managed to climb through the web to get onto where we were but unfortunately she dirtied all her clothing because the hinges were oiled or sth. Luckily she's going clubbing after this and it's going to be dark so no one would be able to see stains on her clothing. Don't worry babe, you'll be able to get it off your classy white top! Oh Betty was way too HOT tonight..we're all so worried about her.

Michelle looks too happy in this photo haha..I love the girls.

Saturday, January 14, 2006

I'm watching Memoirs of a Geisha later in the afternoon!!! Today!!! Aaaaahhhhh I'm so damn excited now..have to thank my darling for letting me watch today because we're supposed to study at his place the whole afternoon. Yaayyyy! This is one of my happiest moment ever since the semester started. Please let the show be up to my expectations..I've started rereading Memoirs again..supposed to finish by 19 Jan and only half way through it now but heck..I can't wait to watch the show asap! If Zhang Ziyi speaking English is too weird, I just hope that the beautiful kimonos and scenes of Japan in the movie will make up for it. I love Japan!! And I want to visit Kyoto soon!! Before geishas become extinct..so sad. I wonder how vibrant or quiet the geisha scene in Kyoto is now..

I'm so so damn excited!!! AaAahhhhhhh!! Sorry I got to let out my happiness and excitment again..Too bad Mich cannot join me in my excitment because Jega have to leave after 5pm..if not I'd have booked tickets for her.

My Prince Charming, my Superman, my bodyguard, my everything.

When I first saw you, I saw love.
And the first time you touched me, I felt love.
And after all this time, you're still the one I love.

You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night

Tian's eyes are half open in this photo, he looks sleepy haha. It's the ambience at Shashlik la..and frankly, other than the beef steak that I had, the dinner wasn't worth the money. But since the restaurant is rather well known, I just had to try it..perhaps just once. At the end of the day, it's all about spending quality time with my dearest.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

So Tian and I finally caught Narnia today after a few failed attempts because cinemas were still fully packed 2 weeks after the opening day..hmm..ok la..2 weeks is not very long..gosh it felt so long really! Anyway boo to Jamie and Michelle..I love Narnia!! The show is nice what!! Ok I don't know the story..didn't read the book..and embraced the movie with a light, childish heart (if I make sense) but thing is..I'm glad I enjoy fantasy even at this age. Lucy is too witty for her age really..I would rather her talk more like a little girl. Oh but I love seeing the different talking creatures like the faun, cute couple beavers and funny half man half horse warriors and many more. Cute what! I think we should appreciate the animation and the beautiful scenes in the movie..it's definitely not easy to produce or make such shows like this..and LOTR..Harry Potter. Oh the Witch died too easily eh..it was so fast..after the lion appeared the battle is over..thought there should at least be some struggle between the Witch and the Lion..hmm maybe the producers were short of time or money haha.

Haven't been going to the movies for quite some time and I was so close to not watching Narnia because I heard quite a few negative feedbacks but I'm glad I dragged Tian down to town on this Friday night to watch Narnia. We were so close to staying at his place to slack since the show was so late and I was feeling lazy. Our typical nights at his place haha. Anyway Gelatissimo opens past 12 midnight! I can see that they're all out to earn as much money as possible..that is really a prime location..only people like Tian can walk past the icecream shop without being tempted to have some. Humph*

Can't believe it's Saturday already..I'm so happy right now I don't want the holidays to end..don't leave me pleaseee..sigh. Printed my physics lecture notes and SS readings already..soon it's bye bye to blog surfing and Ebaying and I'll be surfing IVLE all over again. Time to change my homepage too.

Sorry I suddenly got so excited..because I realised I'm actually looking forward to my 2006!! Ok I know it's here already..but it's only been 6 days. Anyway I must tell you why..this Sunday we turn 6 and we have the whole day planned..just the two of us immersed in our own romantic world. Next Tuesday I have a squash victory lunch (as Kar Yan puts it) with the squash babes at Rice Table where we'll be eating our hearts out. Next Saturday I'll be meeting my favourite girls again to celebrate Ness's 20th birthday (gosh I turned 19 not long ago and you're already turning 20..damn fast la..haha!)..and watch 19 Jan 2006 because it's the opening of Memoirs of a Geisha!!!! It's going to be my favourite movie of the year besides Rent!!! which will open on 26 April if my memory did not fail me. I'm so so super excited!!! That day when Tian and I were at Cine hoping to catch a movie, they played the preview for Rent and of course the theme song has to be my favourite 525, 600 minutes!!! I knew it had to be Rent when I heard that beautiful song..and after that I can't stop singing the song while shopping with Tian and I made him sing it too haha. I should memorise the lyrics for the whole song so that I can sing it properly heh.

He's waiting for me on the phone as I rush to finish blogging..Tian's quite stubborn sometimes..he refuses to go to bed first. I ought to warn him that I'm quite a slow blogger..

If only I can have a wardrobe hidden somewhere in my small house, which would lead me to a magical world where it snows (so that I can experience Japan at home) and allows me to live my childhood fantasy dreams..hmm..no war and talking lion though. Good night.

Squash Fever!!

Today concludes the Singapore Universities Squash Quadrangular 2006 which had been going on for the past 3 days from Tuesday. Results were Champion for NUS girls and guys!!! Wooohoooo!! That was one highlight but really..win or lose..I had a smashing good time with the squash babes and really..just playing and playing everyday and also meeting with so many long lost friends like Baoxin and Siewling!!! (when we played SMU and we met today at host NTU)..also met girls like Meiyan who lost so much weight (according to Yeelin, it's the got-boyfriend-syndrome. Seems like girls like them who got attached after JC all lost damn a lot of weight and became so girly and stuff. Hmm..) and also Qiaomei..and Wanyu was around at NTU today too!! All in all, I'm glad to say that after 6 long years of squashing and training, I still love the sport and as I was telling Hazel and Michelle when we went for supper together, that I'm glad we had trainings during the holidays because not only did we get to keep fit, we got to know the other squash girls better and squash training without a coach, but a very motherly and encouraging Kar Yan, is so enjoyable. Perhaps in RGS and RJC, we had been pushed so hard by coaches during trainings that we became dreadful of trainings and the sport seemed much less enjoyable when we only think about winning the competition. I'm just happy that NUS does not have a coach unlike NTU, and we don't need a coach anyway, we won!! haha and without our top player Kar Yan around too, Kar Yan had food poisoning the night before and vomitted 7 times and she's totally weak and dehydrated. When we received the bad news this afternoon, the girls were all so worried that we might lose the championship this year to NTU (NUS is champion all the time by the way) since the NTU team is rather strong this year with Meiyan, Qiaomei and Debbie. Yeelin were saying we were the underdogs somemore..haha quite funny now that I think about it. But well, the championship for NUS was destiny. Without Kar Yan, without proper training from a coach, and not playing on home ground, we still won. NUS ROCKS!!!!!

I still can't figure out if I believe in destiny, or fate. Side-tracked.

I hope training will continue once a week because we still have the SMU Squash Fever competition coming up but that's not really a school thing. But knowing us, we'll slowly slack off when school work starts piling up and the exams start. I'm looking forward to perhaps a Quadrangular 2007 next year?!! Then Linda will be so happy to meet her favourite HongKong PolyU people again haha!! Don't we love playing squash haha..and away from the sun..(only thing is I can never get a dark sexy tan like Minli's heh the girl came down on Wednesday when we played HongKong PolyU..it was nice to see you and talk to you again!). Oh and you know what, I actually think I'm playing better now than when I was in JC..am I baorong? I don't know..I just feel that my strokes are better heh (though I still lost my only match to the HongKong player..oh wellz shall not think about that anymore but I know very well what my mistakes were and what I need to improve on). Fitness definitely deteriorated that's for sure but I'm still running once in a while with Tian..haha we're getting old. blah.

Us with the NTU squashies. By the way we just realised almost all of them are ex-NY girls. I wonder if that is why Huiping doesn't want to play for NTU. And I suddenly remembered Huiping. What a huge loss to NTU. If Huiping was playing for them, hmm..NUS would definitely face a greater challenge.

Us with the HongKong PolyU people!! Don't ask me why their school is called PolyU..I can't speak canto for nuts other than 1 to 10..or 1 to 5 maybe..so I didn't really converse with them. Only random small talk in Chinese heh. Oh the HongKong people say 'cheers' when they take photos..why huh? We find it so funny haha.

My favourite girls!! This holiday I had such a wonderful time with them. I'm going to miss the girls so much when school starts. Argh how I dread school. School will not allow me to spend time with them anymore..just like last sem, I'll start meeting the girls less and less..till I don't even know what is going on in their lives. I realised how precious the holidays are for me to spend more time with them. Everything's going to change when Monday comes..please know that I'll be missing you guys..and if I cannot afford the time to go to science or arts canteen to meet up for lunch and chit chat..please know that it is not that I don't care about you girls, but it's because I have to mug 20 times harder this semester.

RGS Squashers unite!! I love this picture..and I have to thank this competition for giving us the chance to play together again..like that doubles game with Baoxin on Tuesday night at NUS..ok it wasn't a game..more of a laughing session heh.

Hazel, Me, Michelle and Baorong!! We got to know Hazel better this year through squash and we got very comfortable talking and gossiping with Hazel haha she's a gossip queen! After the squash event ended at 10pm today, Hazel drove Michelle and I to a prata place opposite Beauty World for our second round of supper. And yes, thanks to her, I added a new place to my list of good prata places for supper..and it's near Tian's place so we can eat there as and when we feel hungry haha. We each had a prata and a milo dinosaur and in the end we were so full none of us could finish our milo. I was so close to finishing my drink la..I'm always the one who eats the most haha..and tonight I better drink lots of water or else my throat will die tomorrow.

Us again..acting cute haha!
The NUS Squash Team..my darling Tian is absent from the picture, along with quite a few other girls including girls' captain Kar Yan whom I've come to respect a lot after I got to know her more through squash. Basically the NUS team is so much bigger than the other universities..and we're champions!! Check out the NUS attire and the funky jacket haha..the material is good you know!! There's a cap too!! - see Linda who's absolutely in love with the whole NUS attire..the cap is rather oversized and not very nice haha!! Linda always makes us laugh.

I'll leave you with my favourite photo taken on Tuesday when NUS played SMU at the NUS courts. Matches started at 6pm and after the games were over, we stayed back to play till the lights go off at 10pm. Then Baorong drove us down for dinner cum supper at Holland V but Baoxin refused to eat because she had dinner at home. Anyway for that one hour of dinner, I had a wonderful time with them talking about everything, and even back to our embarrassing past in primary school and secondary school when we first met the RI squashers..and I kept saying we girls must go on holiday to Japan one fine day..perhaps 2 years later? Gosh it'd be sooo much fun!! I can just picture us walking down the streets making hell lot of noise and taking pictures of everything and screaming over every pretty thing that we see in Japan..=)

Our hair's all messy and we're all smelly haha. We looked like we're back in the RGS squash era. Anyway..my right arm is in pain everytime I move it..my body is aching so badly arghh..but I think I should go running with Tian again tomorrow evening. Heh it's rather romantic running with him in the evenings along the Ulu Pandan canal..we encourage each other mentally as we run and run until we're dead tired (because we're so unfit) and then we'll take a stroll back to his place hand in hand..=)

Just the three of us (and Betty dear for a moment) on New Year's day =)

I had a craving for Ding Tai Fung when I walked past the restaurant with Tian in the afternoon..the smell of the food is irresistable. And I had a good dinner with the two girls who dine at Ding Tai Fung so much more often than me. And they eat so little rice I had to finish up the fried rice or else it'd be wasted!! Seriously you girls eat so little carbo trying to stay slim right..how could the small bowl of fried rice be enough!! I know what Michelle is up to ah..ate so little..tsk. You should see the amount of rice I eat when I have dinner at Tian's place.

Soaking up the last bit of Christmas in town..

Goodbye 2005 ...

The bells just rang for the first day of 2006 at 12 noon sharp..and it's nice that 2006 began with a cool and quiet Sunday like this. I got back on 31st Dec 2005 at about 2.45 am and eversince then till now I've been busy catching up with friends on the phone..catching up with my sleep..catching up with my family and the ever-so-cute little Jonathan at home..and still spending everyday with Tian. Oh unpacking was very fast also..I was rather amazed haha I must be getting the hang of unpacking! Anyway last night Tian and I urshered in the new year in the comfort of his home. The count down show on TV was quite sad haha..with hosts Michelle Chong and Gurmit Singh at Mount Faber where couples threw away 999 bucks just to have a meal in the cable cars which have their own fireworks..meaning fireworks will shoot out from individual cable cars. Quite silly right..$999 can send me on a trip to HongKong or a trip to Bangkok for 2 already haha! But those people are rich la. Oh and the show featured performances by Tanya Chua (ok she is a singer..) and Fann Wong in a baby doll dress (and no she can't sing so why is she singing heh). Oh but I must say..despite her age Fann Wong still looks so young and pretty..and only she can pull off that pink baby doll dress. The crowd seemed unenthusiastic and rather quiet to me..and poor Gurmit was shouting at the top of his voice to get the crowd hyped up for the new year. I like Gurmit Singh..think he's a good host and comedian. But Hossan Leong is still better. haha

We had the company of Michelle, Roy and Yanli at Tian's place..Tian invited the guys over since his brother was throwing a new-year countdown party at home and there was food and drinks. Thought we could feed on the food and perhaps make use of their mahjong set but nah didn't get to. Thing was I don't think we should interfere with his bro's friends and be extra. Oh his friends were a noisy bunch man..I don't remember Tian's friends being so noisy during his birthday party..when there were more people. The bro's friends laughed so loudly..can't stop wishing happy new year..and the girls talked so loudly as if they owned the house!! Ok I should not be negative because they were simply enjoying themselves and I bet they're quite high after some alcohol. They were right celebrating the arrival of the new year. Now why was I not the least bit excited..

I remembered my first new year countdown with Tian and friends was at the millenium countdown party along Orchard Road..haha that was one crazy moment with my bestest friends like Baorong and Baoxin..and Ness was around too if I'm not wrong. I vaguely remembered us jumping around with the crowd at Orchard and singing to the songs which were blasting away..they played the Blue song if I'm not wrong. That was a celebration..and perhaps one or 2 years later there was also a celebration of the new year with my favourite girls again at Janen's place. Last night was no celebration however..I was just watching 2005 come to an end..and a new year arrives..and I'm scared.

2005 was a crazy year..It was the year that I learned to let go and forget. It was the year I tasted failure and learned to accept it with pride. It was the year dreams were dashed but new goals were drawn and I became a stronger person. It was the year we parted ways and I struggled to fit in with reluctance and bitterness but I'm just glad I have my OG. It was the year I saw old friends standing by me and encouraging me as I strived hard to do the best I can. It was the year I spent the most I've ever spent on Tian's presents and Jamie's present haha! It was the year I fell in love all over again..

Perhaps every year gets better and better I don't know. I guess that should be true because with experience..you learn more about yourself and improve to become a better person. But the memories from 2005 were simply wonderful it's sad to let it go. We know that all good things must come to an end and I hate that. I don't want to lose any friends..I want to be on holiday forever..I'm afraid of to think of my future..I'm afraid of growing old..I'm afraid I'd lose my parents..I'm afraid to lose my loved ones..

Time is my biggest enemy.
