Yeap THE Mango sale started yesterday and as usual, I was faithfully down in the morning. Decided to try Isetan Mango instead of Suntec Mango. Suntec has been my usual choice forfirst day of Mango sales cos tt place is just much bigger hence not only can it accomodate more people (aka not tt crowded), it should have greater variety of clothes and sizes. First year going to Isetan Mango on first day of sale, met Rachael there too..only only her..other familiar faces from other jcs. This was my earliest..met michelleL there on time at about 7.50am to find that as usual, they opened the doors before 8 and as usual, I lost to god knows how many other ladies before me. Not only was there a looonnggg queue when I arrived, the shop was packed with women already!!! Damnnnn after years of practice I still fail to be early. hahahhahaha


Anyway it was a shopping date with michL who has not gone for a mango sale on the first day of opening. Was quite excited to show her how rough things can get. Bad Bad choice of shop in my opinion..it was terrible man..cos shop was of cos smaller..all of us were practically packed like sardine ok!!! My experience on the 2nd level was really horrible..at times I would be stuck in the middle and there'll be women all around me pushing n pulling in their attempts to move away or to move forward to grab some clothing they saw. I was just thinking to myself while stuck for a moment, that if I were wearing a tube..it'll definitely fall off by the time I wriggle my way out of that area. We were pushed so damn close together such that we were practically smelling one another's hair or armpits or whatever..mixed smell I'm smelling..there's one moment when I give up pushing and just observe women around me. hahah so embarrassing..I was in working outfit without a single trace of makeup..I bet I looked so normal..while other girls have at least a piece of accessory. haha nvm. out of point. Oh..another thing is never carry a huge working bag for such sales because it'll restrict your movement. My bag and those belonging to other women got stuck in between legs very often..gotta keep tugging n pulling.


Ok so mich and I happily grabbed anything that we fancied with decent prices of course. I was carrying quite a few clothes and finally decided to stop our hunt and head for the dressing room. A shock for me to realise that I can only try 3 pieces at a time and then have to queue all over again to try the next 3 pieces. In the end I realised that Mango has to implement this if not the queue for the dressing room will never move. N I was thankful for the rule too because Mich and I had better hurry our shopping if not we'll be EVEN later for work. And I think it helped me focus on the clothings that I really want instead of taking everything. Walked out of Isetan Mango 91 bucks poorer to my name. A belt (tian totally loves it and insisted on me wearing it everytime I wear my jeans..okkkk), a pair of white shorts and a top which I have eyed before the sale..happy to find my size but not the colour which I preferred (white,that is). Nevermind, better not take the risk of not buying it cos I really doubt I can find it after now. MichL and I cabbed to office..with a little MANGO hangover and was so tempted to take half-day to conquer other MANGO outlets hahaha. I definitely cannot do that.


No prizes for guessing that we arranged to meet up after work to visit MANGO at Raffles City with our guys. Much less crowded and I wasn't very interested too..by the looks of the clothes left on the hangers. Also, most of the clothes were strewn on the floor or messed up somehow..I was rather put off. I like the first morning of MANGO sale because I wouldn't know what to expect or find in the shop and I get the adrenaline rush from the challenge of finding affordable clothes that I really like and grabbing it from other ladies!! haha. after that to revisit MANGO it gets boring and sick because I don't like looking through messy piles of clothes and the sight of the clothes thrown all over on the floor is quite sad. Only happy thing is to find the green crossback top which I also liked before the sale but didn't get it cos it is overpriced for such a think piece of clothing. haha glad I managed to find that top..19 bucks!! heh


Visited Jamie while she's at work at Raffles City..before heading to Newton Circus to treat ourselves after a crazy day of work and shopping. Actually it wasn't crazy..MichL and I were so tame. I actually heard some women scolding the shop assistants at MANGO for whatever silly reason..aiyoo just follow the rules la..don't make things difficult for them. I think it's terrible to work at MANGO during sale period. Really. When all women turn into tigeresses..it is an ugly scene. Tian wanted to come along in the morning to help me carry my bags and queue up for me while I hunt for clothes haha. Very thoughtful and I was very touched by his offer. But decided not to wake him up in the morning because I figured this is women's business and I shall handle it fine on my own. Went to Isetan MANGO and saw a few guys who accompanied their girlfriends there..they were stuck in one corner la..looked so lost..haha poor things. Anyway the scene in the morning was really ugly so I was glad he didn't have to witness it. haha


Met Esther and Denise there at Raffles City..hope they managed to grab some nice stuff. On the whole I'm quite happy with my purchases from this sale. Didn't buy clothes just because they're cheaper than usual (common mistake which I made at previous MANGO sales). Such clothes usually end up neglected in my cupboard..so I guess I've learnt to be more focus and have more self-control now.


It's the weekend again!!! I'm leaving for HongKong real soon and betty and ness will be back in Singapore at the same time..haha now back to work..


I forgot how good McDonalds breakfast is..haha n it keeps me full for quite a long time..I love food.
