Finally..some time alone to use the com in office while superior is out for lunch (very rare..she has a date today). 3 more days and i'm forever gone from this office. Friday is the long-awaited day of liberation aka no-more-office-work-for-the-next-3-years day(hmm..maybe not in the end), it's MichL's last day too and if you're reading this..i'm asking you out for one last lunch date at bugis!! friday afternoon or thursday is fine too..let me know!! Anyway Friday is the day tian's medicamp ends and it's the last time he can pick me up from KKH..so he better head straight home after medicamp, sleep, and come pick me up from office..after which we'll celebrate my 'retirrement'. hahahah I'm so gonna miss the money..i'm gonna be so so poor after this. However i'm glad I'm quitting two weeks before school starts..I actually feel kinda excited to slack full-time with tian..and have planned some days to ask the girls out for shopping date. Having said that, Michelle Ang and I have an appointment for a classic mani and pedi on 22 July evening after her work!! hhahahahaha for me, it is to commemorate our 'retirement' and to reward ourselves for more than 6 months of work. Also, 24th is mich's birthday and I guess this is a nice birthday treat for herself haha. Tian's having his 21st birthday party on the 30th and I'm hoping my nails will last till then..so make me extra shinny and pretty too!! hahahah I'm talking nonsense..But I'm so excited about our nail date cos it's our first classic mani and pedi and though we're spending quite a bit..we're using the 1-for-1 offer by Cleo. Instead of paying 60 bucks each for the classic mani n pedi (where got so ex one!!!???), we'll only need to pay 30 bucks each!! I hope we won't be short changed of the services..anyone wanna join us?~!!! Let me know k n we'll make appointment tog!!
I'm also looking forward to Tian's big day on the 30th..guest list is out and we've just informed the first batch of pple late last nite and in less than 24 hours, more than 10 pple have already replied! It's making tian excited and I hope other pple will reply soon so that we can invite other pple like his army friends. I can't wait to shop for balloons and hopefully a birthday banner..Promise I won't make it too childish!! Birthday parties are so fun..baorong and ness!! remember my birthday parties when we're in primary school?~!! We played silly games and even danced to music which my dad played on the hi-fi lo!! I still have pictures hahaha. Can't wait for my 21st!!!
Recap..on Saturday I had a great day sleeping till 11 plus in the morning..sth which I have not done for god-knows-how many months..it was fantastic..I never felt more rested. Slacked a little at home..lunch cum newspaper reading before I left to meet tian. Watched sneak preview of Crash in the afternoon before meeting MichL and Roy for my 3rd dessert buffet at Marriot Hotel (No wonder I'm this size). I ate the most again..tried and finished all the types of cakes they had to offer..love them..prefer the cakes to the jelly pudding stuff hence I did not touch them at all. I promise not to go for anymore dessert buffet for the next 5 months ok tian? hahah I think I can do it. I wanna try other hotel's dessert buffet..I've tried almost everything at Marriot already..enough/ To go to other hotels, whose dessert buffets are not as affordable I believe, I shall save up for 5 months first hahaha. Oh did I mention that I met MichA and jega while having dinner at Scotts!! haha nice surprise but how did mich recognise me from the back? Tried to look for them before I left but they were no where to be seen..I'm looking forward to a couple outing with them..heh go jb for go-karting or sth =) mich is always skeptical abt these outings cos they never materialise. Woman..this time you're the busy one cos you're quitting so late..I'm so damn free after this week!!! yay~~
About Crash..it is a very good show as Ness promised. Very touching..anger-provoking at the same time and thought-provoking too. I can never believe such a society as depicted in the movie actually exists in this world which we live in. It's ridiculous how the whites are so suspicious and untrusting of even the most innocent blacks. Not as if the blacks did anything to them..the image of blacks as robbers and murderers is so stereotyped by the whites such that they assume all blacks are out to harm them. Then the show revealed the irony that the whites are no better themselves. Out of fear and desperation, they too took innocent lives of their fellow townsmen who unfortunately are of a different colour. The whites are no where 'good' themselves too. Why the black and white can't live together peacefully is because they are afraid of each other. Slowly, the whites, like characters played by Sandra Bullock and that young policeman, realised that some blacks mean no harm and that they actually can care for each other and be friends. I'm not good with words..but this show brings meaning to the black and white inter-linked racism band which tian wears. I'm thankful for the peace between the different races in Singapore.

Shall update on another day..with more pictures from betty. I had a fantastic night with the girls..full turn-out is always rare and treasured. Huiping's sudden departure shocked me a little..hope you're feeling much better now =)
