I love pink
Cos I love my nails last Thursday. But painted nails can never last for me..not even for a week. My beautiful light pink nails has started to fade and chip off. I don't know what I do to make the paint "wear and tear" so easily..I can never be a tai tai who goes for manicures n pedis frequently. I'll go broke. Shall DIY..but glad this express manicure that I did made me become acceptable of another colour on my nails..that is light pink. Never dare try light pink cos I'm afraid it'll look bimbo or sth. But the lady at Super Cuts introduced it to me because it suited my fair skin and I wanted sth that looks very "clean" and classy but not deep red. Totally loved the shade of pink she gave me and I shall try to hunt for a similiar pink nail polish to add to my collection. heh
Got home not too long ago from tuition. To a passerby who asked how much my primary 5 assignment was..it's $220 for 8 lessons, one and a half hour each. Not a lot and definitely not easy to earn I tell you. It's quite a long wait before you get the money..but it's enjoyable and easy to teach my girl and her parents are very nice so it's fine. I'm looking forward to see her through her PSLE. Got home so late cos the stupid 98 bus takes forever to come..practically every half an hour..and i jsut missed the bus when I walked out of the condo. Freaking pissed..I was so tired and still had to wait at the dark busstop. Can't even read anything because it's dark!! What a waste of time. In our lives, we definitely spend the most time waiting..waiting for a bus..waiting for a reply from your dream university..waiting for your prince charming..waiting for our future to unfold before our eyes. And when we get old..what will we be waiting for?? hmm..
Was very immersed in the papers before coming online tonight. Should not even have came online cos I am supposed to be sleeping now. Monday's Home had a section called Youthlink. Let's talk about being elite. Very good views which I all agree with..it's very true of our Singapore society..to be a Singaporean you cannot avoid this system of elitism. This article by Melissa Lwee..she mentioned..
"I have always stuck to the socially more acceptable and prestigious path. My elitist notions of education meant that I chose to study law even though I wasn't passionate about it. I did what I felt was expected of me and the creme de la creme of society."
There'll be definitely some people who applied to NUS Med and got in because of the above reason. Congrats. I don't know what else to say anymore.
Had a not-so-good lunch at Pasta Mania with MichL today during lunch break. Impromptu lunch date which is quite usual for us haha since she gets to travel from Raffles Place to toa payoh. Anyway Not-so-good for me because creamy chicken really gets on my nerves whenever i'm half way through it but I still keep ordering it. Actually it's just cos it's cheaper. Was so tempted to order baked rice today. Nvm. Not-so-good for michelle because I ordered ice lemon tea and clam chowder which is not her cup of tea. Haha I promise not to order these two items anymore the next time!! sorry michl!! Time flew during work today..don't know why also..maybe cos I had more things to do. Superior is on MC for 5 whole days due to kidney infection..thankfully not bedridden because I definitely cannot manage at the office myself for this week. Still have to call her up to confirm things and she came back to office for a while for a meeting. But But But!! Tml Society's having a meeting in the evening and she told me to manage myself!! Alamak!! The doctors will all be looking for her and I have to run the show..I hope everything goes fine..oh please..damn stressed without her actually. To think that I also help her to destress..haha but she's experienced with her work..I'm not!!
Last evening was terrific! Had a good dinner with baoxin, baorong and michelle, with tian as special guest haha. Supposed to spend time with tian after work but mich and I arranged this dinner in the morning (last minute) so yeap. Tian has to come along for dinner because I felt bad asking him to go home while I have dinner with the girls. And the girls have to tahan tian's presence so thank you to the girls and tian for making yesterday possible!! Met up at newton mrt, all geared up for a fab dinner at newton circus (awaiting some stingray) but what the hell how come newton circus is closed on Monday!!! No one told me about that!!! To think that before dinner while tian accompanied me for my IPL session, he kept persuading me to change dinner venue. Oopss..he has scary foresight..hmm anyway we headed for Sakura at far east to relive our RGS days. Haha days in RGS were terrible..did we hang out at Far East and Wisma almost everyday? Or at least lunch at far east chicken rice store or Burger King and shopping at Livia. haha sometimes thinking back..I feel like we were a girl gang in loose blue aprons storming down Orchard Road and occupying Far East Plaza as if it's our territory. hahha Anyway mich and baoxin were fussing over baorong's "new" look with her new hair (which I totally support cos I think it's very nice and the length is just right) and her in a skirt, pink lipstick and painted nails. hahaha come on man what's the big deal..baorong is all grown up n lady-like now!! Baorong is definitely girlie..maybe just a little late haha but we must embrace the change!! As long as she looks good or better and inside her is the same old baorong that we all knew..then it's fine!! Way to go girl!!you look fab!!
We talked and talked..about baoxin's japan trip..her future in SMU accountancy (The way baoxin tells things is very funny..always make me laugh or smile =))..her ex-colleagues who are LV fans. So interesting!! Somehow we talked about rgs days and then a lame joke from GUESS WHO?? to spice up the evening. hahaha Why I was so happy that evening is because I finally got to see baoxin and talked to the girls..after so so so so longgggg. Also, I was very glad to see my darling laughing along to what we were talking about. I strongly believe in AI WU JI WU. Since you love me, you should love my family, friends and things too. hahahah so far the boyfriends in our gang have been very nice haha. I like all of them!! N like michelle said..I really wonder who will be the first to get married in my gang. I don't want to do the honours cos the first to get married will have 7 bridesmaids!!! hahahha n I want the chance to be a bridesmaid!! how cool!!! Especially the bridesmaid of your bestest friend!! hahahah
Anyway to baoxin who's leaving soon for Japan..be safe and have a great trip!! So excited for her!! all the cute jap guys..can you just imagine!! n what if she meets Takizawa on the streets!!!I will never forget my jap craze in Secondary school..thanks to the jap series on channel 8 then and dawn!! HAHAHA can never forget her room full of posters of cute jap guys!! now what's the name of tt jap boy band which I was crazy over..oh there're two..one consisting of younger menmbers. hahaha So fun!!!
All in all..we're still the same old girls from RGS. Perhaps some parts of us have matured ove the gruelling years but the childish and easily-excited nature of the rgs girl still remains in us. We have changed a lot actually..all of us..in our views of life..relationship and society..become more optimistic or pessimistic about life..that i wonder. Time definitely has brought us physically apart but it's amazing how it was like yesterday when we were all training together in RGS. One gathering makes such difference and I feel so happy. Just like a little girl. I don't think we're far apart anymore..though we hardly meet up..our minds seem to be connected somehow..
Just read baoxin's blog and it touched my heart. Half a reunion is definitely true but it was a very good one and definitely..Friends Forever.
I love you all too..Love, Jess.
