Well well, I came home to more than 10 literature readings in my mailbox. Goodness, looks like I'll be very occupied for the next few days although I can't start on any work in the labs because I have yet to attend the training course.
Terrible first day at IMRE because we wasted more than 5 hours there WAITING for our very busy supervisor. I had the computer but I was so bored of surfing the internet, and it was too uncomfortable for me to take a nap. Finally, we had a less than 30mins meet-up with our mentor but we got to discuss the all important issue - the project I'm undertaking at IMRE for the next 12 weeks. The readings have to be done before Cynthia (this other yr 3 bioengin girl assigned to my mentor) and I can make our choices between the 2 projects he offered. I'm quite glad that our mentor seems like a flexible person, hope he's helpful too.
Sooo glad I got to meet Tian for an hour before I met up with the girls for dinner. Refused to let go of Tian when we had to part, haha, so silly. And I had a fantastic time with the girls over dinner at New York New York, my first time there. Roasted chicken - no good. Carbonara - thumbs up. Smoked salmon salad, calamari, mushrooms - thumbs up too! As usual, we stayed till the restaurant closed, and later shifted to Starbucks till we were chased away because they had to close too. It was only 12+!!!
Can't wait to do this again, girls, lets have dinner every week! Haha we'll never run out of things to talk about...just that we'll be missing some of us like Baoxin who's leaving for US for a bloody long time...only coming back in August!!! It's work-and-travel, but still! That's even longer than my internship! And Jamie's touring Korea then sun-tanning in Bintan. And when she's back, Baorong will be trotting down Vietnam, and the next month, it'll be Michelle's turn to visit Vietnam. Happening!!!
Wonder when we'll have another stay-over...so that we can talk and talk through the night.
