My lost wallet

OMG OMG omggggg I received a small package today by courier. First thought was of course it must be some clothes that my sister bought online using my livejournal account hence it is addressed to me. I almost didn't want to open it thinking that it's her mail. But since it's a top, then it's no harm opening it to take a look before her. Anyway it was addressed to me! haha and guess what I found inside...THE WALLET THAT I DROPPED ON MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!! can you just imagine the shock or rather surprise that I got?

So it was like that, I dropped my wallet on Monday, as Mich and I were on bus 106 from Orchard to Holland V to meet Huiping and Baorong for dinner. After taking out my wallet to tap on the machine when boarding the bus, (I thought) I slipped my wallet back into my sling bag and happily continued chatting with Mich while standing in the middle of the bus. I only realised that I probably dropped my wallet (when I thought I aimed correctly and dropped it into my large bag!) when I had to fish out my wallet to pay for dinner at Thai Express. Baorong had to cover my dinner cost for me. So yes, I wasn't really panicking or what, and why, because it's not my first time losing a wallet. But then I thought of how I have to remake all my cards, and especially this time it would cost $100 to remake the IC, I got a bit sian. So I was telling the girls how I am not meant to come back to Singapore because on the first Monday that I am back, I lost my all-important wallet. The wallet was a birthday present from Jamie and Mich too, from 2 years back. Moreover, in the 5 months in Europe, I didn't lose anything or get pick-pocketed and now that I am back in Singapore for barely a week, I dropped my wallet. What was hard to accept is how I can DROP my wallet when my bag is so big. damn stupid. So of course I immediately cancelled my cards and called the Bukit Batok bus interchange up a few times to ask them if they picked up any wallets and yes they did have 2 wallets but both were not mine.

I was rather calm about the whole situation. Didn't really panic or cry over it whatsoever. Anyway I was with the girls and the night had to go on so we even went to Coffee Club to chill out till midnight. I could only hope that some kind soul picked up my wallet and would soon call me up to return it to me. And I remembered this time when Tian and I picked up a wallet on Orchard Road and we searched through the thick wallet to find her name card and called her up. Finally we arranged for a meet-up at Raffles Hotel to return her wallet. So when I lost my wallet, I was hoping that karma would bring it back to me.

And it did. This kind soul's name is Gee Su Myn, an account manager from Insight. I don't have a name card so there is no way she can call me. Thank god I have my IC in my wallet with my address on it so she could mail my wallet to me. So nice of her. She left her name card in the package. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude when I saw my wallet, really couldn't believe my eyes. I called Tian up immediately to tell him the good news and wanted to discuss how I should express my gratitude for her. I figured a dinner treat might be inconvenient for her since it would take up her time and she's a working person so hmm I don't think she would have a lot of time to spare. Maybe I can send her a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates.

Today is a happy day. :)
