Soccer fever

Some very belated photos from my very first live soccer experience - Singapore VS Malaysia @ National Stadium. 'Rushed' down after Impresario Semifinals at Junction 8, picked Mich Loh and Roy up then 'zoomed' down to Kallang, only to find ourselves stuck in a very long jam. Spotted many fellow supporters in red stuck in cabs (and imagining how the fare meter was jumping profusely while the cab was practically not moving for so long) and only arrived at the stadium during half-time. We had free entrance thanks to Daryl and arrived just in time for a very exciting 2nd half followed by penalty shoot outs. Seriously it was damn scary la...I really thought it was going to be 5-5 then gotta go into silent death but Tian was right, he said 5-5 penalties are very rare because there's bound to be someone whose balls will shrink and yea, it really did happen and WE WON!!!

Yeap I was jumping up and down very happily, but at the beginning I did ask Tian how come the standard of football is so different from what I've been watching with him on ESPN. Sorry la, it was the first time I'm watching the Singapore team play, and from these few matches, including tonight's finals, I got to know some names at least, haha, like Precious, Alam Shah, then there's this China guy whose name I can't remember now, and of course Lionel Lewis. This ASEAN Football Championship experience had been really interesting and fun, especially the Singapore VS Thailand match last Wednesday - oh my god I had so much to say about the match but I couldn't find the time to blog because life's been busy these few weeks with so many exciting things going on, and regular university work to keep up with. Perhaps because we were sitting right in the middle with the main crowd, somewhere above the Thai crowd, that's why the crowd seemed louder and more excited with more vulgarities and cheering. Haha that night was really an eye-opener, and yes, we found out that it was a controversial match too.

A blur but nice shot with the crowd. As you can see, we were right at the top of the stadium and we stood through the 2nd half of the match (because the view was better up there than at our seats).

Tonight brings the end of the ASEAN Football Championship, and this concludes our exciting experience of 1. looking for a carpark, 2. walking a long distance to the stadium from the car, 3. the cheering + kallang wave + wear red (which I obviously failed to do so for both matches), 4. supper after football. It's been really fun, and I'm so glad I got to experience this with you, and the rest of the gang, yes Celene, you too! Enjoyed our little girltalk while the guys led us to the cars. =)

Alright, mat
hs tutorial at 9am tomorrow. I really need to start studying more. I seem to be doing everything else except for sch work. Even Mich Ang, ok both Michelles, seem to be studying much more than me. That's it, I really need to focus. =( and I have not even blogged about Impresario. =( Like I said, there are A FEW things going on in my life right now.
