September Madness

Baorong's 22! [29.09.08]

Mich and I self-invited ourselves to Baorong's new house for a sleepover! Thanks to Yanrong for smuggling us into her house close to midnight for her birthday surprise. And she was happily taking silly photos with him using her webcam while we prepared her cake downstairs and had to climb 3 stories stealthily to surprise her when the clock striked 12. It was a bad day for a sleepover because Baorong had to get up for school very early the next Monday morning but we still ended up talking in bed till about 3am and the topics were sooo personal. haha! Definitely an unforgettable sleepover with my favourite girls!

F1 Singapore Grand Prix [28.09.08]

Tian was very excited about watching the race right here in Singapore and was thinking about it the whole week leading up to race day. That day, we had an early dinner at Ichiban Boshi and by 6pm, we were already walking around, searching for good viewing spots. Armed with ear plugs, Tian and I roughed it out for the first part of the race, where we stood next to the track outside Marina Square's Carls Jr in our attempt to get as close to the cars as possible. Tian got me really excited but in the end I realised the cars were moving so damn fast it's impossible to see anything! I couldn't even make out the colour of the cars that zoomed past! (Tian was educating me on the cars and the drivers, cos I wanted to know which was Hamilton and which was Massa.) So after a while when my camera died and I got tired of tiptoe-ing, we adjourned to Fin Seafood Cafe, an outdoor cafe in Marina Square, to join his parents and brother who were watching the race from there. It was so much better watching from up there, and soon I just camped in front of the projector screen, watching the live broadcast of the race. Without the timings and live report, you really wouldn't know what's going on! Especially the crashes throughout the race and accidents at the pit stop. Towards the end of the race, it was so much more exciting watching it on TV. So I think Tian and I got the best of both worlds, FOC!

Seriously, what you see in the photos above is exactly what I saw. Blurred images of the cars. Tian's taller so he could see further down the track where the cars were coming towards us from the small bend. No more photos from later part of the night because my camera died just when the race started.:(

Durian Feast [18.09.08]

To mark the end of the durian season, we had a nice little durian party with the bioengineers and thanks to Li Quan and Lenith for the delicious durians! There was even pizza for dinner before the durians. Oh and we were happily eating on a veranda right outside li quan's condo gym where there were people working out. haha. They must have hated us. Lets do this again next year! I miss durians already and it's nice to have friends who enjoy durians as much as I do, cos the boyfriend does not share my love for durians. =p

Baoxin's 22! [13.09.08]

Quite a nice picture of the 3 of them laughing and clapping so happily. hehe.

We celebrated Baoxin's birthday for her after the concert! That day marked the start of our monthly gatherings! We're doing very well with Jamie's suggestion, aren't we? :)
